I've been going online etc. but not much success with interviews, feel my resume is up to scratch and experience etc, have great references, good appearance...

do you even like what it is that you are trying to get a job in? a very wise person once told me - do what you love and the money will come. if you really love what you do it will show with out you trying at all!Any advice on how to search for a better job?
Register in any of the website (there are so many available) and automatically they will come back to you with the offers. Otherwise you can give your resume to the Consultants and they will do them for you. Don't lose heart, everyone gets what they deserve.
There is no better job on earth. You have to find a job u like to do, than this is call the best job.

Resumes should be only one page and should give all about you and your positives, Details can be given in later pages. I have had occassions where people tend to be casual in preparing their resume thinking it is a waste. The resume should speak for you and all the achievements beside your academic achievements should be in the first page itself.
