I got my car stolen a year ago and it had college information in it and the people have been using my name, the local police department know about they arent any help, i had perfect credit before now its all messed up how do i fix all of this i want to buy a house soon??Any advice on how to get rid of identity theft?
Depending on your state you can place a credit hold on your SSN. This requires a phone call before any new accounts can be opened.
