Experience is the best way to learn, every restaurant has their own system but the biggest piece of advice I can give you is always keep your eyes on ALL of your customers. You can tell by body language if they need something. Watch for them to signal you over for something they need. Always check at least once to make sure everything is ok. And last but not least always refill water and drink glasses when needed. These all apply to 5 star as well as diner locations.


Remember when they are happy and not worrying about the food and service the tips are much higher!!! Goodluck
