My 2nd generation ipod touch is stuck on the apple logo and i cant use it any advice on how to fix it?

My ipod touch has been showing the apple logo and then it shows the recovery mode picture.

Try restoring it in iTunes. If it doesn't show up in iTunes, then set it into dfu mode. You do this by holding the power and home buttons for 5 seconds, and then letting go of the power button while still holding the home button.
